“As long as we are not living in harmony with nature and our constitution, we cannot expect ourselves to be healed. Ayurveda gives us the means.”
~ Dr. David Frawley

It’s recommended to have a follow-up visit every one to two weeks in the beginning and every three to four weeks as you continue the treatment.

Shirodhara

The word “Shirodhara” comes from the Sanskrit words Shiro (head) and Dhara (flow).

It is the practice of slowly and steadily dripping medicated oil or medicated decoction on the forehead.

Shirodhara is often used to treat:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Relax the Nervous System

Marma Therapy

The word “Marma” refers to the points in our body that are the intersection of the energy channels.

It can involve the intersection of any of the following:

  • Muscles
  • Arteries
  • Veins
  • Nerves
  • Ligaments
  • Bones
  • Joints

Marma therapy has been part of Ayurvedic treatments for thousands of years, and it can also be used alone to treat a variety of disorders.

It’s a very subtle but powerful practice. Prana is the primary source of physical and energetic health and is stored in these points.

In this therapy, Marma points are stimulated by massage to achieve healing effects in specific areas of the mind-body system.

FAQ

Ayurveda is a traditional system of healing that originated in India and has been practiced for over 3000 years. This holistic approach to health and well-being considers the entire body and mind, and aims to help individuals achieve optimum health and wellness.

While Ayurveda includes treatment protocols for healing and disease prevention, it encompasses much more than that. It seeks to guide individuals in their pursuit of a healthy and balanced life. Understanding and applying Ayurvedic principles can lead to significant improvements in physical, mental, and emotional health.

When Ayurveda is practiced by a qualified and experienced professional, it is considered a very safe healing system. However, if you are currently undergoing any treatment, it is always recommended to consult with your primary care doctor before starting Ayurvedic treatment. Additionally, it is important to inform your Ayurvedic consultant about any medications or health concerns you have prior to treatment.

During our session, we will work together to clarify your vision of wellbeing. You will have the opportunity to share your health history and any current challenges you may be facing. Through questioning, observation, and Ayurvedic pulse analysis, I will be able to determine your Ayurvedic birth constitution or dosha type.

By the end of our session, you will have a better understanding of your unique mind-body type, and I will provide you with actionable steps to help you regain your balance.

Your personal wellness plan is like a roadmap that can take you from your current state of health to your desired state of wellbeing. By creating a wellness plan, you can gain a deeper understanding of your mind-body type and discover which foods and lifestyle practices are best suited for you. This can help you establish routines and self-care tools that can make you feel your best.

This is a commonly asked question that you may have come across – what is a Dosha and how does it relate to your health? A Dosha refers to your body type or constitution, and it has a significant impact on your physical and personality traits. It also plays a crucial role in determining the types of Ayurvedic treatments that are suitable for you.

Ayurveda aims to identify the underlying cause of illness and prevent it, rather than just treating symptoms. It is the oldest form of functional medicine.

Please check with your doctor but in general, massage therapy is recommended after the first trimester. Certain therapies are not recommended during pregnancy so please let your consultant know at your appointment.

Absolutely not! Ayurveda seeks to help maintain health and well-being and build upon what is already in place. You might be surprised how an Ayurvedic treatment gently restores balance and treats any little issues that you might be experiencing.
